Software and Online Service sales during Black Friday/ Cyber Monday registered over 200% increase

Avangate’s Affiliate Network Boasts Over 200% Surge In Black Friday/ Cyber Monday Sales

Security, Utility and eBooks Top the Charts with Recurring Commission Capabilities Increasingly Preferred by Affiliates

Redwood Shores, CA - December 27, 2013 - Avangate, the leading Digital Commerce solution provider trusted by thousands of Software and Online Services companies to grow their business worldwide, announced that Software and Online Service sales during the 2013 Black Friday/ Cyber Monday period registered over 200% increase compared to the same period last year.

Growth was driven by the expansion of the Avangate Affiliate Network and increased online sales conversion across many of the 3,000+ companies selling on the Avangate Commerce Platform.

Avangate's Affiliate Network has grown double digits to over 40,000 Software, SaaS, and Online Service niche affiliate publishers, worldwide, ranging from content publishers and deals aggregators to paid search affiliates. Increased global payment authorization rates, renewal and retention rates, and average order value, as well as expanded affiliate tools to support new promotion vehicles and new subscription-oriented revenue models lifted online sales conversion making the Avangate Affiliate Network attractive for vendors and promoters alike.

Typical for the season, security and utility products registered the highest number of sales, representing almost half of the total affiliate-driven revenue generated during the Black Friday/ Cyber Monday sales. New to the Avangate top 3, eBooks rose to the second largest digital goods category, with Audio-Visual bringing up third place.

"With the Software and Online Services landscape rapidly evolving, vendors, as well as affiliates, need to keep up with the shift towards service and new distribution and revenue models," said Michael Ni, CMO/ SVP of Marketing and Products, Avangate. "To that point, we built Avangate's distribution capabilities with not only a leading network of over 40,000 software and online service-focused affiliates, but extended our Digital Commerce platform with affiliate management tools and support for newer strategies, including things like variable commissions on renewals and subscription billing."
