Avangate Expands in the UK and Strengthens EMEA Management Team

Redwood Shores, CA - February 29th, 2012 - Avangate, the agile eCommerce solutions provider trusted by software and SaaS companies to grow their business worldwide through any channel and any model, today announced the addition of Mike Smith as UK Sales Manager. Smith brings over 20 years of sales leadership experience from software companies such as RightNow Technologies and Edify, part of the S1 Corporation.

This leadership appointment strengthens Avangate's position with existing and new UK software customers. The announcement reflects Avangate's continued expansion across EMEA as well as the software industry's rapid shift to selling online, the rise of eMarketplaces and AppStores, and the increasingly important role of indirect reseller channels to help software publishers enter new markets.

Smith's extensive experience helping software companies grow and building successful sales teams directly aligns with Avangate's market expansion approach. His expertise at leading software companies, such as enterprise SaaS provider RightNow, will help software publishers looking to optimize their online selling capabilities to support virtually any software model and enhance their channel revenue using the Avangate Enterprise Edition solution. In addition, Smith has built start-ups from zero to over £40 million turnover while building an 80-strong team.
